Founded in the year 1973, Kilimanjaro National Park is home to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point of Africa. It is one of the most accessible peaks in the world standing at 5,895 metres above sea level, comprising of three volcanic cones; Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira. Kibo, also known as Uhuru peak is the highest of the three.
The mountain has a rainforest inhabited by Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, and Grass Mouse etc.
Shira Plateau gives a traveler the opportunity to hike the great Kilimanjaro Mountain, a World heritage site as a single day trip.
Kilimanjaro National park is also home of wildlife animals including Elephants, Antelopes, Buffaloes, etc.
